Friday’s five-game NHL slate sets up beautifully for a mix of sharp-side moneylines, one premium puck-line spot, and a handful of volume-driven props. The biggest market tells from the attached odds screen point toward Florida and Colorado, while goalie-save props and top-line scorers offer some of the cleanest prop value on the board.

Using the attached market screen as the betting cheat sheet, the clearest sharp split is Florida, which is taking 90% of the money on only 59% of tickets, while Colorado is also drawing a strong 90% money share. Carolina remains a power favorite, but Toronto is now playing without Auston Matthews after season-ending knee surgery, which keeps the Hurricanes firmly in the conversation for both moneyline and puck-line bettors.

BEST MONEY LINE BETS

Florida Panthers (-110) ❌ is the sharp-side moneyline we like most. The screen shows Florida attracting overwhelming money support despite a near pick’em number, and Calgary enters on a 3-7-1 skid over its last 11 games.

BEST PUCK LINE BETS

Colorado Avalanche -1.5 (-125) ✅ is the strongest puck-line look. Colorado can clinch with a point, Chicago is on the second night of a back-to-back, and sharp money already pushed this number off the opener according to Action.

Carolina Hurricanes -1.5 (+115) ❌ is my secondary puck-line angle. The possession mismatch is severe, Carolina has been generating elite shot volume, and Covers’ matchup writeup leans toward Toronto spending long stretches under pressure.

BEST 1st PERIOD BETS

Ducks vs. Mammoth 1st Period Over 1.5 (-140) ✅ is the cleanest early-game total. Covers’ matchup board for Anaheim-Utah lists this as the primary first-period total, and the full-game total is already sitting at 6.5.

BEST GAME TOTAL BETS

Panthers vs. Flames Under 6 (-115) ✅ is our favorite total on the slate. Calgary has been one of the lowest-scoring home teams, Florida is on a back-to-back, and multiple market previews expect a grinder.

Hurricanes vs. Maple Leafs Under 6.5 (-115) ❌ makes sense with Carolina’s territorial edge and the expectation that Toronto may not generate enough offense without Matthews. Covers also built its same-game angle around the Under.

Avalanche vs. Blackhawks Over 6.5 (+100) ❌ is the total I’d play if looking for offense. Chicago’s backup situation and Colorado’s need for a bounce-back spot create the right script for a 5-2 or 5-3 style game.

BEST TEAM TOTAL BETS

Colorado Avalanche Team Total Over 4 (-105) 🟠 is the safest team-total look. Colorado’s matchup is the most lopsided on the board and odds screens around the market are dealing the Avs at 3.5 goals with juice to the Over.

Florida Panthers Team Total Over 3 (-105) ❌is playable if you want exposure to the sharp side without laying the moneyline. A 3-2 Florida result fits both this bet and the broader Under lean.

BEST GOALKEEPER PROPS

Joseph Woll (Maple Leafs) Over 30.5 Saves (-105) ✅ is one of the best props on the board. Carolina has been firing pucks at a league-leading rate recently, and Covers highlighted the same volume mismatch.

Logan Thompson (Capitals) Over 25.5 Saves (-130) ✅ also stands out. Thompson is projected for the start and Covers likes the saves volume because New Jersey should still test him even in a Washington-favored game script.

BEST PLAYER PROPS

Clayton Keller (Mammoth) Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (+145) ❌ is one of the strongest plus-money props available. Covers specifically called him a shot-volume standout for Friday’s slate

BEST GOAL SCORER PROPS

Sam Bennett (Panthers) Anytime Goal Scorer (+240) ❌ is our favorite pure scorer price. Action highlighted his recent finishing surge and strong expected-goals profile.

Martin Necas (Avalanche) Anytime Goal Scorer (+105) ✅ is a strong Colorado exposure play after scoring in five straight road games.

Sebastian Aho (Hurricanes) Anytime Goal Scorer (+160) ❌ remains attractive in a matchup where Carolina should own the puck. We like most in Carolina-Toronto. First-period market lists Aho among the shortest prices, which fits his top-line role and Toronto’s recent defensive vulnerability.

Alex Ovechkin (Capitals) Anytime Goal Scorer (+190) ❌ is a popular market play for obvious reasons, with Ovechkin entering the night one goal shy of 1,000 combined regular-season and playoff goals.

BEST ASSIST PROPS

Clayton Keller (Mammoth) Over 0.5 Assists (-120)  ❌is my favorite assist prop. Keller continues to drive Utah’s offense with 45 assists on the season.

Cale Makar (Avalanche) Over 0.5 Assists (-145) ✅ is another strong setup-man angle in the best offense-on-paper spot of the night.

BEST PLAYER POINTS PROPS

Cale Makar (Avalanche) Over 1.5 Points (+200) ❌is the premium plus-money points prop. Action sees this as the better pivot off Colorado’s puck line, especially with Makar closing in on 500 career points.

Valeri Nichushkin (Avalanche) Over 0.5 Points (-125) ✅ is one of the cleaner chalk point props on the slate.

Nathan MacKinnon (Avalanche) OVER 1.5 Point (-140) ✅ is expensive, but it is one of the highest-probability prop legs available Friday.

BEST 2-LEG PARLAY OF THE DAY

Ducks vs. Mammoth 1st Period Over 1.5 (-140) +
Carolina Hurricanes -1.5 (+115)

Approximate odds +268, means $100 bet = $368 payout

If the goal is pure hit rate rather than juice hunting, this is the cleanest two-leg build. Colorado has the biggest talent gap on the slate, while Carolina owns the best team-vs-depleted-opponent profile.

BEST 2-LEG PLAYER PROPS PARLAY OF THE DAY

Joseph Woll (Maple Leafs) Over 30.5 Saves (-105) +
Logan Thompson (Capitals) Over 25.5 Saves (-130)

Approximate odds +245, means $100 bet = $345 payout ✅✅✅

This is my favorite prop parlay because both legs are volume-driven rather than purely finishing-dependent, which usually gives a cleaner path than chasing two goal scorers.
