MLB Best Bets and Props for Monday Monday May 4 2026

Monday’s board is being driven by premium starting-pitching edges and a few clean market tells. The safest favorite profiles are Los Angeles and New York, Atlanta looks like the sharper contrarian side, Coors Field is still the best total environment, and White Sox-Angels sets up as the strongest low-scoring game script on the slate.

BEST MONEY LINE BETS

Atlanta is my favorite smart-money side because the screen shows Seattle attracting heavier public support while the Braves still hold favorite pricing, a classic sharper-market signal.

BEST RUN LINE BETS

👟 Chicago Cubs -1.5 Run Line -120

Chicago gets a favorable setup against Carson Petty’s first listed MLB start, while Cade Cabrera comes in 3-0 with a 3.06 ERA and the Cubs are one of the stronger market-backed favorites on the screen.

👟 New York Yankees -1.5 Run Line -110

When the favorite is this expensive and the opposing starter is the weaker arm, the run line is usually the better attack.

BEST 1st 5 INNINGS BETS

5️⃣ Chicago Cubs F5 -0.5 Run Line (-135)

We are backing the established starter and stronger favorite early against a debut spot is the cleaner way to play Chicago.

BEST GAME TOTAL BETS

↕️ Mets vs Rockies Over 10.5 (-120)

Coors Field plus a contact-friendly environment is still the best full-game over setup on the board, even with respectable pitching numbers entering the day.

↕️ White Sox vs Angels Under 7.5 (-105)

Davis Martin owns a 1.95 ERA, José Soriano owns a 0.84 ERA, and this is the cleanest duel for a low-scoring game.

Eric Lauer enters with a 6.00 ERA, but the better anchor is Nick Martinez’s 1.70 ERA in a run-suppressing dome environment; this feels more like a controlled total than a slugfest.
